The purpose of this guide is to provide easy to follow information and guidance on how to apply for support and contact numbers. It has been produced in appreciation of both the importance of the activities of voluntary and community groups and the energy of those who work within them.
Community Grants 2010/11
Funding is available from the Community Grant Scheme of up to £1,500 to support community groups, organisations and individuals with cultural and leisure interests wishing to develop, adapt or improve community facilities, services and leisure activities within Cheshire East.
Grants are only available for facilities, projects, events or activities where a demand or need can be demonstrated and where no similar facilities, projects, events or activities are available within the immediate geographical or interest area.
There are three categories of grants, of which there is one application form to be completed:
Facilities (up to £1,500)
- Any buildings used for community purposes, open space areas, play areas
Activities (up to £500)
- Any activities which contribute to the development and wellbeing of the community
Events (up to £250)
- Events which benefit and involve whole communities (not national charities, including local branches)

Deadlines for the receipt of completed Community Grant applications for the four rounds of 2010/11 are 1st April; 1st July; 1st October 2010 and 1st January 2011. You will be notified of the decisions within 6 weeks of the closing dates.
