Notice of proposal - Cheshire East Borough Council (off-street parking places) (consolidated) order 2015 (variation no 4: closure of Princess Street car park - Congleton) order 2017

The Council hereby gives NOTICE in exercise of its powers under Sections 32 and 35 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the 1984 Act’) and of all other enabling powers, of its intention to remove the car park at Princess Street, Congleton from the Schedule to the Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 referred to in this Notice.

A plan showing the location and extent of the Princess Street Car Park, Congleton, together with the Council’s reason for proposing it, is available during their normal opening hours at:

The proposed variation relates to the Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 which came into effect on 26 October 2015 as varied by the Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 (Variation No. 1) 2016, as further varied by the  Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 (Variation No. 2) 2017, and as further varied by the Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 (Variation No. 3) 2017 (the “Off Street Parking Places Order”).

The proposals are with regards to Princess Street Car Park in Congleton

(a) that the reference to the Princess Street Car Park under the heading CONGLETON in the Schedule to the Cheshire East Borough Council (Off-Street Parking Places) (Consolidated) Order 2015 be removed.

The proposed variation above is intended to come into force no sooner than three months after notice of the making of the Order is first published and 14 days after notice of closure is posted on site. Until that time, restrictions for use and penalties for non-compliance with parking provisions remain the same as detailed within the Off Street Parking Places Order.
