Businesses on the Trader Register are committed to complying with all relevant legal requirements, fair trading and good customer service. However, Cheshire East Council, its members, officers and partner agencies do not check the work carried out and are not liable for any problems connected with the goods or services of businesses that have been provided under this scheme.

Nothing in this scheme prevents either party from seeking redress though legal action in the Courts.

Where a complaint about a trader on the Register involves the criminal law, as with all criminal complaints received about any Cheshire business, a thorough investigation will take place which could result in the business being prosecuted. In addition, the trader may face expulsion from the Register.
