aim of the Service is to promote a fair trading environment that
enables honest businesses to succeed. This is achieved through a
variety of activities including the provision of advice and
education for businesses and through the detection and
investigation of criminal offences.
We recognise that most businesses want to comply with the law and
we endeavour to help businesses meet their legal obligations.
However, we will take firm action, including prosecution where
appropriate, against those who flout the law or act
irresponsibly.
