Driver Licence Hackney Carriages and Private Hire Vehicles

Cheshire East Council issues a combined licence enabling drivers to drive both Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Vehicles. A licence lasts for 3 years.  It is the Council's duty to ensure that all licensed drivers are suitable for the purpose so criminal record checks and medical checks are requested for each applicant.  Applicants are also required to pass a knowledge test.

How Do I Apply?

To become a Joint Driver you will need to:

  • complete a Cheshire East Joint Driver application form
