Strategy and Policy
By monitoring the economy and national policy, the Economic
Development Service is able to identify trends at both a national
and local level and can then develop appropriate strategies, to
provide the right conditions for sustainable growth.
Cheshire East Business Needs Survey 2011
A Business Needs Survey report for Cheshire East is now
available. It contains information on workforce, skills, business
needs, performance and confidence, customers and suppliers, the
environment and location. The results will help shape our services
to companies across the Council area. The survey was also conducted
across the Cheshire & Warrington sub region, and the
corresponding report is also available via the following links;
Cheshire East Economic Development Strategy
The Cheshire
East Economic Development Strategy (PDF, 796KB) sets out
our understanding of the local economy and the key challenges
ahead. It presents our economic development objectives at the
strategic level and how these translate into our thematic and
spatial priorities for the Borough. The principal focus is on three
spatial priorities relating to Crewe, Macclesfield, and our market
towns and rural hinterlands. More detailed plans and strategies
will be developed with our partners from organisations and
businesses across Cheshire East to ensure that we have a
comprehensive and coherent approach to developing our economy both
in the short and longer term.
Cheshire East Local Economic Assessment
The Local Economic Assessment (LEA) is an overview of the
economic conditions in Cheshire East. It takes a broad view of how
the local economy functions and how it is connected to neighbouring
areas and other places. Evidence and data have been drawn from a
variety of sources, including a range of social and environmental
factors which impact on economic growth. The
LEA
aims to provide a robust
evidence base to help the Local Authority and other partners
to improve economic interventions and help prioritise investment
and resources. An
LEA
has also been prepared for
Cheshire And Warrington, which offers a sub-regional economic
perspective.
If you have any comments/suggested amendments to the Cheshire
East LEA , please email Economic Development
and Regeneration by 12 August 2011.
